Going hunting brings ethical responsibilities to the hunter, his family, the landowner and society.

Dennis Cecil with a very nice buck.   Like porn, everyone knows an ethical problem when they see it, but defining proper conduct is more difficult. This show examines a hunter’s ethical responsibilities to himself, his family, the game, landowner and to society. Guest Dennis Cecil, the editor of Hunting and Fitness magazine,  and Hovey discuss how people of all age groups can get ready for their hunts.  A drawing for two rifles,  including a Wolf .50-caliber muzzleloading rifle complete with an accessory kit, a $225 value;  and a Harrington & Richardson Handi-Rifle in the winner’s selection of calibers, valued at about $300,  has been extended to Oct. 1.  Listen to the Sept. 17 show for details on how to enter and get the codes for the drawings.

Observing ethical conduct, game laws, and paying attention to what guides and landowners have to say are first steps towards staying out of trouble with your fellow hunters, game officials and the public. A dozen problem areas are examined on the show including the “first blood rule,”  which, although not law,  has evolved over the centuries to help solve game ownership problems.

Being physically able to do whatever the hunt requires is discussed with Dennis Cecil, the editor for Hunting and Fitness magazine. He and Hovey consider regular exercise programs as a means of preventing hunting injuries by developing muscle tone and stamina through exercise programs that start months before the season and continue all-year long.

A quick review of the previous six home Business Modules is presented followed by Business Module 7,  which is about judging the competition for your proposed business, where this competition is located, what their price structures are and deciding if your business plan can realistically succeed.

Making a world-class spaghetti sauce from the lean ground deer meat will be presented along with how to moist-cook deer so that low-fat deer paddies can be turned into delicious ground steaks by grilling and steaming.
